St. Louis Area Boys Basketball ratings Jan. 7, 2020

As long as I am comparing boys basketball rankings, I might as well put up my latest St. Louis area rankings.  There have been a number of shifts with Vashon dropping by 10 rating points due to a  recent loss to a good Memphis Lausanne team.  Hazelwood West, who I thought would take off this month, lost to a decent Parkway North team last night.  Their stock could continue to drop with a loss at Ladue tonight.  St. Louis Christian Academy has made a strong move up the ranks with their holiday tournament success.  Lot's of action in January so stay tuned.

Section predictions Missouri class one and two boys and girls basketball

Basketball and Coronavirus - What's next? What can you do?

It's hard getting up in the morning.  Some days I don't remember what day of the week it is.  My grandkids are struggling.  They are stressed.  They can't do the things that they want to do.   I finally bought myself a golf driving net and set it up against the house in the backyard and I hit a couple hundred golf balls a day and work on form.  My wife and I are walking the neighborhood, sorting old digital photos, fixing stuff and knocking out Honey-Do Lists that I have avoided for years. I told my grandson, who was looking forward to the AAU 17U season that he might be lucky to play in July and August.  Very Lucky.  Schools are closed for the rest of the spring.  I feel real badly for all of those spring sports teams.  I feel bad about the Spring AAU schedule disappearing.  I doubt that there will be a June HS practice and game schedule.  I doubt everything our "President" says about opening up the country.  IF WE KEEP...

Missouri Boys High School Basketball Rankings by Class 1/3/2020

I am not entirely through the holiday tournament results but I kept up enough with the top teams to post another Missouri boys basketball rankings by class for the top 40-60 teams. In class 1, some people would think I am crazy (Paul Simon song?) to put Dora second behind South Iron but the comparative scores tell me that Wakefield and company at South Iron can beat Haney, the Lunas and Dora.  It's too bad this won't be the championship game for class 1. In class 2, Animu Mohammed made me a believer in Greenwood (what took you so long, Gramps?) when he scored 49 points (all of Greenwood's 2nd half points) in a 10 point win over Kickapoo.  Hartville is good but I don't think anyone will figure out how to stop Mohammed. In class 3, Trinity had a great MICDS tournament but I still rate Charleston a 5 point favorite over Trinity.  Cardinal Ritter and Father Tolton are still in the mix with Christian O'Fallon not too far behind.
